Another picture made at art school for the exhibition. This is probably the one picture I've thought the most about.
It was inspired by "The King son's Wedding" by J. F. Willumsen. [link] As you can see that picture has a very sharp line where the styles differentiate. This is mostly because Willumsen decided to paint some more years later, when his style had changed.
But he also painted a new person along with the poor people and while he isn't as realistic as them, he is a lot more realistic than over by the rich people. This fact made me decide that he was also doing something with contrasting the rich/poor contrast.
So I decided to do something with that change in style. The girl on the left is painted in... I want to say a expressionistic style, because then it will fit better with Willumsen, but it's mainly my normal manga style, I think. I drew her slightly deform in a reference to how he drew his muse Michelle, and she got superhero clothing as a reference to the wedded pair.
The girl on the right is painted much more realistically, with duller colors and saner face proportions. I also tried anothor form of shading instead of cell shading, but it didn't end up all that great, especially not on her shirt.
Who can find the one color that's the same on both sides?
Didn't you forget to mention that the picture and frame both are painted?
Tja, jeg nævnte det ikke, men man kan vel se det?
I så fald er folk dumme
Very nicely done
Thank you.
